Facebar columbus6/6/2023 ![]() I understand hot dishes take time to cook, but shouldn't have taken 25 minutes. 15 minutes later, my cold appetizer appeared, just as I tried to cancel it. Suddenly, all 3 hot dishes were piled in front of me. 25 minutes with no food or anything to munch on. With tapas, one wants to leisurely graze through a variety of culinary delights. This is a tapas restaurant that also offers main courses. This totally should be a 5 star review but for poor execution and service. Not to mention, again, the great service! The price was very reasonable for 4 large tapas servings, 1 dessert, 3 beers and one very nice wine clocked in at about $70. The truly decadent Tres Leches cake capped it off. Da wife loved her final tapas, the Beef Empanadas. Ah well, she was kind enough to take them off our bill. Katy didn’t talk them up but I wanted to try. I took a chance on the Sardines A La Vinagrette. Da wife got a side of very good, freshly made pita to scoop up the Relleno sauce. It had good flavor (lots of cheese, diced tomatoes, other goodies) but there really wasn’t a lot of flesh on the chile. The Chile Relleno Con Queso was again big enough for two to share. Then the absolutely killer scallops! Huge scallops in great seasoning with a thick crusty bubbling cheese crust! Excellent! Took all the ones we didn’t eat that night home and enjoyed them for a couple days. Our first dishes were an excellent assortment of olives with olive oil, pickled (?) lemon slices and herbs. Also wasn’t afraid to give recommendations, which I love. An excellent bartender and server! Knows the menu inside and out. shuffle of bartenders serving us but we eventually got Katy to stick with us. But they found a table for us in the bar side of the place. Would not have been surprised if they said, “sorry all booked”. We showed up on a whim after attending a riverside music festival nearby. I highly recommend you give it a try if you are in the downtown Columbus area. I do t think I could have asked for a better trio of dishes to try as a cross sampling of this South-American influenced restaurant. Empanadas were flaky and the meat was well seasoned and flavorful The chimichurri sauce popped on the pork. I also had the beef empanadas with spicy rocoto, and the pork skewer with chimichurri sauce. I had the dinner portion, and am glad I did. The dried plantain “chips” added that extra touch you always want in a dish like this. They used red snapper and the lime, cilantro and onions complimented it very well. One of the top three I’ve had across the country and Central America. Since I haven’t had any other in Town, I can only say that what I had was fantastic. ![]() Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Columbusīeen a while since I have review anything, but with things opening up and being able to get out, I wanted to give a huge shoutout to a hidden gem recommended to me by a friend Sidebar Columbus.Restaurants for Special Occasions in Columbus.Restaurants for Group Dining in Columbus.Italian Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Columbus.Chinese Restaurants for Lunch in Columbus.Hotels near (CMH) Port Columbus Intl Airport.Hotels near Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs.Hotels near The Ohio Expo Center & State Fair. ![]()
